Rooibos lemon garden
i went to a local tea and coffee store the other day an i picked up to Rooibos’s. the first one is a lemon grass rooibos and this is great for this spring season. its got a strong citrus taste to it sweet orange comes through, which must be the two flavors coming together, but the lemon grass has a separate taste which is more zesty. its nice warn or cold as rooibos usually is. i like this one and will defiantly pick more up soon. i picked up the tea at The Canister

Happy Birthday Tea
when i signed up for adagio.com they gave you the ability to fill in when your birthday is and then they would give you a tea for it one of there zodiac tea selection. so my birthday being today i thought i might as well share my Pisces tea with you all (the review that is).
adaigio: Pisces blend
Pisces people love music and poetry and frequently daydream. Why not daydream and have a nice cup of tea? A blend of Rooibos, Orange and just a touch of Chamomile.
Me:
now one would think rooibos and chamomile that’s an odd combination and that is what i said when i read the review, but is actually a good pairing. the chamomiles heavy almost caramel taste mellows the fruity blast from. this gives is a candy taste like a natural candy its got a hint of those flavoured honeys that you can get from the farmers markets. you can’t really taste any of the orange it must just meld with the rooibos to much or that it is just over powered. this is also a good tea for the cold season its jam backed with vitamins so it’ll keep you healthy.
price:
4oz tin $10 USD CAD
Ceylon sonata
adagio: Ceylon Sonata
Black tea from Sri Lanka. In colonial times, this island-nation was known as Ceylon. This name is still used to describe all teas grown here. Ceylon tea is bright and lively, with a wonderfully delicate flavor. Our ‘Ceylon Sonata’ is the finest grade tea from the renowned Kenilworth estate, located in Sri Lanka’s Kandy region. The perfect afternoon tea.
Me:
this is a nice black tea not to strong but with a good flavour, you can add to it and there wont be any clash with the taste, on the second brewing it gives off a beautiful fruity taste, i would say its apricot and its great. i don’t even like apricot, but its more like apricot syrup then dried apricot.
price: 80z tin $12 CAD or USD
cucumber mojo white tea
Fullyloadedtea says:
Know the expression “cool as a Cucumber”? In this premium white tea, refreshing Cucumber coolness is brought to a whole new level. Its aromatic melon mojo combines with the subtle sweetness of Carrot for a truly light, clean taste. Delicate white tea leaves, picked in the spring just before they open, mingle with Cucumber and Carrot for a unique blend that will put you under its spell.
this is another fullyloadedtea which is pretty good really fresh and flavourful, the cucumber gives it a zest which is new and nice and goes well with white tea. Ingredients: white tea leaves, natural flavor, carrot pieces, cucumber pieces, safflowers, marigold flowers. but you can almost taste a hint of mellon to in there. this would be lovely on a summer afternoon in the shade or on a sunny winter day reminding you of warmer days. its a white tea so it has less caffeine so you can have it when ever or depending how caffeine effects you.
it rings in at:

Irish Breakfast
Irish breakfast from adagio teas is a nice general black tea that has a nice medium taste there isn’t anything to special about it and there isn’t any special flavours that come through this is good with milk or just plain and i like that, its stronger tasting then a Darjeeling but not as much as a golden monkey (yuck). its a combination of a Ceylon of Sri Lanka and a Assam of India. this is typically served with breakfast as the name implies, but would be a nice afternoon tea while you read your book. for newbies in tea drinking this is something good to start with
Tomato Rebel Black Tea
The tomato rebel black tea by fullyloadedtea is quite a bland tea I thought it would have a sundried tomato punch to it but that is hardly evident actually; there is not much of any taste to it at all. It does have a kind of arts and crafts smell to it (one of those little stores that sells all the local hand made stuff) the only flavour you do taste is a bit of the basil on the back of your tongue. I’ve tried this a couple of times to make sure I was getting it right that included a double infusion and even using my zarafina on the bag setting but still no real change. Therefore, I would pass on a one it was a let down.
Darjeeling #22
The Darjeeling #22 is a black tea from adagio.com, this is one of those soft plain teas it has a nice dark golden brown colour. This one doesn’t really have any kind of special taste to it nothing unique so plain or with milk and honey it doesn’t matter this would be a good tea in the afternoon with a friend. The tea isn’t finicky you don’t have to worry about over steeping or the temp. a 4oz tin is $12
citrus spiked black tea

the citrus spiked black tea is another sutle black tea the citrus has a mellowing zest to it and really rounds out the taste. when i opened the package i got an almost peppery smell that tickled my nose. the colour when dry is striking black with flecks of blue and bright red from the orange blossoms is stunning. this is another fully loaded tea blend and it really delivers.
Yunnan Jig
This is a black to from the Yunnan region of china far south. The tea is pretty mild as black teas go it has a subtle woods taste kind of musty but still subtle not overpowering and actually soothing. this is one of those teas that you dont have to worry about over steeping which is always nice. I hate worrying about my tea and wondering is it supposed to taste like that. think this would be a good tea for those night classes to stay awake in. this is an adagio tea and the 4 oz tin is $10 (link)
golden monkey
OK I’ve waited a while to give this review on the golden monkey tea mainly because its disgusting and i kept on trying it because i thought I’ve been brewing it wrong but I’ve changed times and methods on it several times and nothing so i am just going to right it off as something i don’t like. maybe its a bad batch but i don’t really want to waste money to find out that’s what it really tastes like. the tea is so strong and the smell so powerful that you notice it immediately on adding the hot water to the leaves. its pungent and the taste stays with you I’ve added milk but it almost has a spoilt quality to the taste that i just cant bare. i got the tea from adagio, from there black tea sampler which i do enjoy but this one is the odd bally of the bunch it just not for me. if there is anyone that knows more please contact me leave a comment.
